ArcBox Batten Mount for Tile, battens 22-25mm thickness - box of 12


These brackets fit Viridian's ArcBox enclosure securely to a roof tile batten. The ArcBox enclosure simply snaps around a DC connector to reduce the risk that an arc-fault situation develops into a damaging fire. 

For roof-integrated solar systems, a batten bracket hooks over tile battens to hold the ArcBox in the batten space behind the solar panels or solar tiles.

ArcBox Solar Connector Enclosure - Single Unit

The ArcBox - reducing fire risks in Solar PV


The number of solar installations is growing fast and with it the risk that mistakes assembling DC connectors lead to fires.

The ArcBox enclosure simply snaps around a DC connector to ensure that if an arc ever occurs it is safely contained and doesn't spread to combustible materials in or around the solar installation. The effectiveness of the product has been independently verified by the KIWA fire test laboratory and Loughborough University.

Ideally, use it on the manually crimped connector - two per string

ComAp MainsPro G99TT (with seal)


MainsPro G99TT is a G99 compliant type tested mains protection relay for on-grid parallel-to-mains photovoltaic applications. It provides adjustable voltage, frequency and loss of mains protections to safeguard both the distribution network and the generators.

The G99 functions were added as a result of UK adopting EU Commission Regulation on harmonising network standards known as Requirements for Generators (RfG) into GB Distribution and Grid Codes.

The main change is moving from Vector to ROCOF (Rate of Change of Frequency) protection to detect how quickly the system frequency is changing by continuously sampling the frequency of mains voltage. Now ROCOF is the only approved method for Loss of Mains.

The unit has protection settings set during the manufacturing process. Some of the settings cannot be changed and some are locked in a way that only authorized personnel can change them.

The surge protection device can be retrofitted by connecting it to the standard plinth. The failure of an SPD module is detected by the inverter and displayed on screen as well as reported by the monitoring devices, if required.

SMA DC Overvoltage Protection Module Kit (type 2)


The DC Surge Protection Module Kit is a DC surge protection (type II) adaptor kit for the SMA Sunny Tripower Core1 (STP 50-41 inverters). DC surge protection is necessary to protect electrical equipment against voltage surges. Also called overvoltage and lightning is a well-known example of this. However, overvoltage protection creates potential equalisation which leads to neutralisation of the voltage differences. As a result, all connected solar panels and inverters remain undamaged. Type II only protects in the event of indirect lightning strikes.

Santon Fireman Safety Switch, with cable glands


In most photovoltaic systems, the DC isolator is integrated into the DC/AC power inverter. After switching off the DC isolator, the cables between the DC solar modules and DC/AC power inverter running through the building are still subject to up to 1000 V DC. In the event of a fire, firefighters are exposed to a very serious source of potential danger.

The Santon domestic firefighter safety switch (DFS) provides the solution. It directly disconnects the DC current in close proximity to the solar modules and creates a safer situation for firefighters.

The DFS is powered by a motorized X-type switch and can therefore be located directly at the PV modules. The DFS automatically switches off if the regular AC power is down and automatically switches on when the regular AC power is on again.

Santon ‘snap-action’ spring mechanism, with its response time of only 3 milliseconds, reduces the electric arc. In combination with the self-cleaning contacts, this increases durability and safety.
