K2 Insertion System
Most rooftop PV systems have been installed with a conventional clamping system. Nowadays, however, PV insertion systems with insertion rails are also increasingly used for module installation on commercial systems with sheet steel roofing and residential tile roofing.
A major problem with conventional clamping systems is thermal expansion. This can cause enormous stress points at the roof fixing points where the mounting system is connected to the roof and at the connection between module clamps and solar panels. Thermal expansion causes, in extreme cases, all types of problems such as loose clamps and panels, and voltage discharges onto panels which can trigger glass micro cracks.
In K2's insertion system, the PV module is not fixed to the mounting system by clamps, but it is inserted into horizontal rails without the use of special tools by using roof hooks and bolts.
- The insertion system can save an enormous amount of installation time with quick and easy module wiring
- No need to apply clamps - eliminates the need for assistance
- Sleek and attractive design with continuous closed surface, without gaps or additional edges adds further robustness. The insertion profile provides additional frame reinforcement
- With this system, aesthetic aspects are combined, and the mounting system can visually adapt to the roof. Depending on the size of the roof, it allows space for additional modules due to the saved clamping distances
- It is suitable for different roofing types; tile, corrugated fibre cement, corrugated sheet metal and trapezoidal sheet metal roofing. It also suits solar facade installations
