The new LUNA2000 215kWh advanced battery system is a large-scale energy storage solution engineered to deliver superior performance and sustainability. With a round-trip efficiency of 91.3%, it is particularly geared towards the flexible power needs of larger residential properties, C&I installations, and on-grid/off-grid scenarios.
The storage system allows for flexible scalability and it comes with a 10-Year warranty.

The individual components of the system come pre-assembled inside a cabinet: PCS, Cooling System, 4 Battery Packs, and Rack Control Module (includes BCU, ESS Control Board)
The basic system consists of one cabinet which is designed with 108kW/215kWh capacity. It can be scaled up to 20 cabinets, as the cabinets can be operated in parallel on a SmartLogger 3000C to provide higher storage capacities for various project sizes.
The model can also support up to 50 cabinets in plants that only use energy storage. The ESS-only system is mainly used for peak staggering and peak shaving at the grid connection point through scheduled charge and discharge.
The world’s first hybrid cooling C&I ESS combines air and liquid cooling methods to maintain battery optimal operating temperatures, extending system lifespan and ensuring efficiency even under challenging conditions.
LUNA2000-215kWh-2S10 can operate in different modes. At an ambient temperature of around 40 °C, the device uses active liquid cooling; at low temperatures (e.g. -10 °C), the heat generated during DC/AC conversion is used. When operating at nominal temperature, ambient air is used as a coolant. The coolant has a life cycle of 10 years, reducing operating and maintenance costs directly. The system employs lithium iron phosphate cell technology, known for its high level of safety and longevity.
Each battery pack has a built-in energy optimiser 2.0 that monitors the battery charge level (SoC) to ensure a depth of discharge (DOD) of 100%. This feature allows battery modules to continue operating at peak capacity even if one is aged or limited. This can increase the usable energy by 2% in the lifecycle.
This model is designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions and operate at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters.
With an IP55 certification, the system is protected against dust and water jets from all directions, allowing use in a variety of environments.
The system is equipped with C2C dual-link safety architecture which covers electrical and thermal safety from cell, pack, system, to consumption. This includes short-circuit protection and thermal isolation mechanisms and ensures that there is no risk of fire, explosion, or diffusion of thermal faults between cells.
It offers dual monitoring of battery cells and system-level protection to ensure the integrity of the cabinet and nearby users.

The sophisticated design allows for easy installation and maintenance reducing operational costs by 50% and ensuring cost-effective deployment and user convenience.
The space-saving three-sided layout cuts the front-to-back spacing and enables a cost-effective setup without extra wiring or trench digging during installation. In addition, this solution has a low maintenance requirement, with an automatic SOC calibration system, eliminating the need for on-site calibration visits.

Recently, LUNA2000 215 2S10 was certified at the highest safety level (first on the market) by TÜV Rheinland regarding battery degradation. Such certification attests the system lower battery degradation levels and higher SOH (State of Health), by at least 2%.
Finally, the system is also compliant to RoHS-6 standard which restricts the use of 6 hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products This directive was created to protect human & animal health.
